Fuel poverty is when you spend more than 10% of your income on the basics such as heat/light/water.
The state pension is about £920 every 4 weeks.
The avg energy bill under the new cap will be £143 per month, but the elderly need more heat to keep as warm as the avg person. So we can add 10-20% to that, meaning it's £158-171. That's 17.5 to 19.5% of their income.
That doesn't even include water bills.
