increased frequency of cloud cover is a direct result of increased solar energy input other than heat (ie, solar flares and filament eruptions and coronal hole streams). just before the recent floods in UAE there was a news story about a cloud seeding tech they were experimenting with that used simple negative ion generator mounted on a plane... coincidence? probably not, actually, but normally the middle east doesn't catch as much electrons from the ionosphere from these phenomena
when the amount of solar electrons and radiation particles increases, you get more clouds, which means the ground dries out less, the rainfall is possibly more frequent, and you also will notice that seasonal changes in plants relating tot the drop in humidity will not happen as normal because it doesn't dry out as much
it also means more thunderstorms and hailstorms, and may raise the dew point temperature and thus reduce frost as well, or, at other times of year, may even mean more hoarfrost where that is normally more rare
