"content": "As I am stuck by the number of enthusiastic pan-Europeanists on Mastondon experiencing such angst about any condemnation of what are truly horrific Israeli war crimes. I’m looking at Germany and France, both heavy enablers, at this point. Only Ireland stands firm, given their own history of occupation and repression. I guess ‘holocaust’ guilt remains after decades; and Europeans reveled in the glory of the ‘exodus’ and we all had affection for Golda and the early socialist kibutzim, but then the Irgun, Haganah and Stern Gang came along and scuttled any chance of a two-state solution, massacring villages and seizing historic Palestinian lands, as settlers continue to do today. The illegally occupied have a right to resistance, my friend. The right to respond, as you put it. It is the US and much of Europe’s shame this murderous war continues.",
