One of these is situated under the keyboard, which is simple to remove because Thinkpads are designed to be easy to work on, even for clutzes like me.
I replaced Windows with a Linux OS, installing Manjaro 24.2 from a USB flash drive.
The installation worked flawlessly - my new drive, RAM and the wi-fi adapter were all detected and configured, and Manjaro, which is a more user-friendly version of Arch Linux, runs very well on the Thinkpad.
