bcallat (nprofile…6s6z) Im really sorry. We did increase the timeout a lot specifically to give baise-moi a better chance, but it only helped a little. Every other instance works perfeclty, but baise-moi is so unreliable bc it randomly and heavily rate limits our proxy, and there is nothin we can do abt the 404s on media it WAS succeeding.
Rae blamed it entirely on akkoma, saying it caches failed requests, and i looked into this very seriously hoping its smth we can simply fix, but i found that it relies entirely on nginx's reverse proxy module, which is set to only cache HTTP 200 statuses. We tried disabling the cache entirely just to be absolutely sure and it only made the problem a million times worse bc now everything was getting rate limited.
Please understand, i wish there was more we could do but i dont know what else to try. i wish i had the courage to ask rae for help but i feel like we already caused so much trouble. I would like to try set up a bot on baise-moi so we can write a reverse proxy specifically for it, but i would have to ask rae and im too autistic to not phrase it super weirdly. If the broken media from baise-moi is getting too annoying, then all u can do rn is block the domain. u can ask rae urself for help but im not sure if she even addressed the rate limiting yet :(
