I really need to find a good way to approach #ttrpg magic, as I find myself complaining about standard ways and people posting about it way too much.
I have my issues with the "so random, lel!" crowd, the people who reconstruct their half-forgotten college science education, the "magick" woo people and the Roshambo Sandersonians.
Quite often the rules are perfectly fine (apart from the weird & wonderful random table people), but the in-world theory and orgs are the main culprits.
