#EngenderedWriting 06 — Have you ever been accused of writing a gender *unfriendly* story? (E.g., anti-feminist, anti-man, etc.) How did you react? How would you react reading one?
Never been accused of, have read a number of such. Most of the time I shrug and move on. Misogyny is endemic and misanthropy, while less common, still pops up from time to time as well. It's part of life that I fight against but am not surprised by.
The one time I had a serious reaction was when the author went out of his way to put a disclaimer on the front 'you can't accuse me of sexism because it's historical and realistic to the society!' on a book that was...
Well, I ended up writing an essay about it and how important it is that we NOT repeat this authors mistakes.
