the situation defused when someone (cough) remembered that there was a way to walk through that city block with those old houses. then protesters walked around city centre stopping traffic and probably ended up in some park.

that scene with riot police staring down and surrounding maybe 40 people, most of which were underage, has never left me since. police ready to beat up kids because they wanted to save a perfectly good house from being dismantled & used as gathering place for citizens.
