This is all sort of a red herring anyway.
oh how so?
The contents of the book are entirely fabricated. Saint John the Apostle is one of the most important saints of the Church. It’s fighting words to say that he wrote this thing you’re reading.
Fabricated by whom? why is it fighting words? I have no reason to disbelieve its him writing it. but I have no proof either. I have faith, I am taking a leap of faith with this book.
The book you’re reading is identified as being a heretical work of Gnosticism. It’s been recognized as a heretical work for many centuries already.
okay and? so its recognized as a heretical work for many centuries, why should that bother me? why cant I go and read it?
It contains dangerous ideas.
such as?
I wouldn’t trust myself to read it. I wouldn’t trust pretty much anyone I know personally to read it.
then how do you know it contains “dangerous ideas”? have you read it?
You’re playing with (hell)fire by entertaining the thought of consuming its contents.
its a book. I think I will be fine.
