The book "Zurich Axioms" taught me to fall in love with people - not political jurisdictions, lands, buildings, or things.
In the past, people have crossed oceans in search for a better life, knowing they would likely never go back. Normally, things had to be *really* bad for people to consider this - as in, starvation-level poverty.
Out of curiosity, have you wondered how bad would things have to get before you would consider leaving Germany? (It gets harder the more people you love you would have to leave behind. However today, nobody is really leaving anything behind as in the old days because of communication and travel technologies.)
