Going forward, I would spend nearly a year, telling people, truthfully, the software was OK, and if you wanted to add code, to do so, but do not send them any money!
Well, no surprise to myself, the lead proved to be problematic and other people started to realize they were a jerk. They even experienced a moment where they demoted people on their flagship instance and others resigned. The internal drama got so bad, that even some of the developers were seeing red.
