Maybe the most striking takeaway for me about democracy in America is that our system is far more flawed than I ever realized.
It’s no fun to lower your expectations of an institution you’ve grown up being told to idolize. Supreme Court. Congress. The Presidency.
The fact that they all suck is a bit depressing.
