US healthcare is just stupidly, ridiculously expensive. Just went through the open enrollment stuff and my medical insurance costs about $1225 every two weeks between my share and my employer's share.
Still have all kinds of copays and deductables, of course. As one does. ("Amusingly", my out of pocket costs for fully covered things is a bit higher than the completely-uninsured costs for the same things in France)
