I thought systemd-homed and homectl were the service and utility for managing home directories and user profiles including portability.
I'm curious what else people have misunderstood systemd-tmpfiles to be for if not for transient data but can look this up,
as I assume it wouldn't remove an entire home folder unless user error added that configuration.
