#Russia Margarita Simonyan called for a thermonuclear explosion over Siberia in order to "return the world to 19th century" as result of an electromagnetic pulse that would destroy world's electronics and satellites (technically it wouldn't but whatever).
Many Russian commentators reminded her, to put that lightly, that Siberia is part of Russia and there's quite a lot of Russians living there. Dmitry Peskov asked for a comment replied that Simonyan is "not in any official position in Russia", implying that she's a private person who has the right to say whatever nonsense she likes. He also said gently that Russia does not plan to exit the international agreements on nuclear test moratorium. Other Russian channels however reminded that Simonyan is the director of Rossiya Segodnya state-owned company created by Putin's decree in 2013 so she's as close to being a state official as you can be.
To be honest, I think it's just another scene of Russian "game of loco", where they're just trying to demonstrate to themselves how crazy and unpredictably extreme Russian politics is in order to present Putin as the only possible moderator of this carefully directed mess.
