If an accelerating green transition produces a switch to green energy that outpaces the decline in the extraction of fossil fuels, then fossil fuels will likely become cheaper as the fossil fuel firms fight for markets.
This means that Govt.s will either need to help keep clean energy cheap(er) than fossil fuels via subsidies, or ensure fossil fuel prices do not stop so much through higher taxation.
