This might be the most absurd motivated reasoning about politics I've ever read, and that's a pretty high bar. McCathy broke multiple deals made with the Democrats, allowed an entirely manufactured impeachment of the Democratic president to proceed, and provided aid and comfort to the traitors who tried to overthrow our government on 1/6. McCarthy burned all possible bridges with the Democrats, then pissed on the ashes.
