I think the most galaxy-brained take of 2025 is that #TikTok is being banned because it’s too effective at teaching people empathy lol. This is related to other wild takes such as “you can’t/shouldn’t curtail <insert literally any massive exploitative online service> because <someone somewhere uses it for left-adjacent purposes>.” Multiple things can be true at once: A platform can be _generally_ harmful while being _particularly_ beneficial. The latter doesn’t negate or even lessen the former.
