My new exposure to American Christians, mainly Protestants, is that they study the Bible like a Jew studies Torah. It becomes a rule set used advantageously for interpretation. But it also means the church died with the binding of the first Bible. It's like they don't know the church lives on beyond the written ruleset they cherish",
