The fate of our republic depends on everybody taking their civic responsibility seriously. To try to understand the issues, discuss them in good faith with those you disagree with and vote. When we treat government and politics like reality TV and act like a rabid fan of a sports team, we erode the democracy. Both sides pushing for it to be entertaining, instead of useful to the public good, is the reason for the downward spiral we're on.
