One of our undergrads (the usual age) noticed that I have a boombox sitting on the fridge in my office. I told him I'm still sitting on a ton of old cassettes, and that box still plays them. Sometimes it's fun to bring a couple to the office and listen while working.
He told me that he just bought an old boombox himself and has been listening to vintage cassettes.
We connected over a 40-year gulf.
