You may not like to hear it but I don't find AI copyright violation argument persuasive. Intellectual property already starts as a constructed "right" as it involves no deprivation except what the state enforce. It is something society decided to create as a favor in interest of creation, not any natural order. Intellectual property is critical in a modern economy and I'll defend that, but it as a moralism is contrived.
When you create something for the public, it will be consumed with no credit. I often consider how it is only time and weakness of memory that makes my knowledge free from the burden of crediting a source. In the moment I feel obligation. A deca later it doesn't matter. It just becomes a part of me.
AI is brazen and nakedly corporate, but I cannot create new exceptions because of vibes. I cannot intercede to prevent the future. Once you accept that, it never ends on what you are called to preserve in defiance of a progress you are not in position to judge the n-order effects of.
I hate AI slop. I recently counseled a friend that their using it was hurting their brand. I pay artists, like for my avatar. That's my decision to hold, but I cannot decide this for you.
I do not hold an ability to adjudicate every attempt forward in defiance of the established order. I am not ready to set fire to machines picking apples autonomously. And by your purchasing habits, neither are you. In the end, purity is ephemeral. We all end up driving to Walmart instead of the local bakery. We all accept the death of artisans for convenience. And this will not be any different.
That is not me being mean, it's just being correct in a way enormously distasteful and preemptive, for the moment.
