I just transferred my website hosting from #heroku to #linode .

Advantages:

cheaper
full control over build cache
full control over release timing
better metrics
no more projects on Heroku (consolidation)
simpler project config
I can ssh in and do whatever I want

Disadvantages:

I have to manage TLS certs myself
