How interested is the #HMRC in the collection of #taxes?
Well, they seem satisfied that the level of taxation collected runs at around 95% of what would be expected; a shortfall of around £36bn annually!
Part of the problem may be complexity in the UK's tax system that make enforcement sometimes difficult, but given that the staff complement looking at taxation fraud has dropped by 28% in five years, better enforcement looks unlikely!
The HMRC needs to up its game!
