The Uluburun shipwreck is another key piece of archaeological evidence because of its date (14th C. BC) and the excellent conservation and variety of its cargo. It included gold, a lot of copper ingots, tin ingots, glass, weapons, foodstuffs and a complete set of weights for measurement.

They key question in the context of economic history, given this is an excellent example of international trade in the bronze age, is: how were these items paid for? how was their value measured?

In other words... was there a common Unit of Account and Means of Payment used? Or was this just large scale barter with one set of goods being exchanged for another?

AFAIK no economic historians have analysed this with a view to answering this question. No academic papers have been published on this.
