Personally I would rather see end to end voice content encryption and authentication (maybe as well as local link meta data encryption, but that can never be hidden fully if using the PSTN).

It almost warrants something that does in band (within alaw/ulaw data stream) TLS negotiation.

I bit like old school telephone scramblers :-)
