#WritersCoffeeClub Ch 15 Nbr 02 — Do you write to music? If so, do you feel it influences your story?
Not per se. When I was younger, I'd make more of a point of having music playing, especially streaming Soma.FM npub15gsve0aw5a3jsns3cfeffv5s22r9gczrw8hf0pc9z949ewhyf5lqg29ep4 (npub15gs…9ep4). I won't discount the sense of acceleration I feel when listening to a good beat, but nowadays I feel I'd tune it out anyway, or risk being distracted.
Does music influence my stories?
Well, when I wrote an iteration of the devil-girl's story (lavender, not green), I had Intuition from Blade Runner: Black Lotus by Salem Ilese on infinite repeat. She and the series antagonist have bad blood (her notably, not the antagonist who wants her as a friend). This line encapsulates the MC's animosity completely: "I only listen to my intuition / And she tells me that she doesn't like you / No, she doesn't like you..."
My first sale was a novel that was spawned from hearing Queen's Another One Bites the Dust.
