As I've repeatedly said, internationalization is Capital-I Important. So one of the languages I would like us to support with Sentinel 65X is Japanese.
That's a *tall* order on an 8/16 bit machine, but existing standards provide at least a minimal solution.JIS X 0201-1997
is an 8-bit fixed-width extended ASCII codepage which provides for the use of Katakana; while written Japanese is normally done with a mix of Kanji and Hiragana, with Katakana for names and loanwords, it is common on 8-bit platforms to simply use Katakana, which is readable and can encode the entire phoneme gamut of spoken Japanese.
