#WritersCoffeeClub Feb 25 - How do you feel about Amazon's influence on books and publishing?
Nobody likes a monopoly (unless you're a shareholder). The idea that a company is so influential that you have little option but to use them is annoying..
However, I think Amazon have created a publishing environment that has allowed anyone to take part.
It has removed the need to go on a lengthy, possibly years long journey to find (still limited) routes to traditional distribution.
The system is by no means perfect, and I have suffered from issues myself, but it still opened the world of self-publishing up to me.
I honestly think I wouldn't have published a book without Amazon.
