like sure, use good cables, but you're still only getting so much out of it, like 720p-ish Splitting chroma out gives you a bit more clarity.
beyond that, we might as well be using lumacode or whatever it is that folks are using for getting HDMI out of retro machines and building our own digital video protocol.
but also, VGA exists and can be real nice up to some very useful resolutions if your cables are good. I bet we could push that further if we forego discrete channel signalling and use more tolerant transmission methods.
