When I was a teen, and a young teen at that like 13-14, I liked reading steamy romances and horror. Now that I'm 39, I like reading middle-grade fantasy. Shouldn't that work in reverse? lol It's not really a big deal. I feel confident enough now to like what I like and not be afraid to let people know it. I just think it's kinda funny.
