The sax was also designed expressly to maximize volume and peircingness - so I'm a bit of a cheater.
Do wish there was more moshing / stagediving at free jazz gigs lol.
As a sound tech who has often worked in small rooms with only a bit of PA gear - if all the amps are on 12 it can become impossible to make the vox audible.
At the end of the day though the most important thing is that a band has a little think about how they want to sound /how to make that happen before showing up for a gig. And I will co-sign every other piece of advice in the column!
