I think some of it is maybe a heat rating, not just cross sectional area, but it's still weird. There are literal dark marks on my parents' ceiling from the correctly rated incandescent bulbs in their bathroom lights, how is any reasonable LED of equal or lower consumption going to be less efficient?",
