pretty much. none of them are mandatory except death. Religion tries to put us all at ease of that death. they created God, heaven, hell to keep us in line. society wanted us to feel insecure to make us feel secure by providing protection. instead you're supposed to be productive by studying, working, having kids(more labor) for the machine to run smoothly. once you realize you don't need to do all this, you can wait to die, religion steps in to scare you with heaven, hell again.

it's a cycle we created to have a sense of control over little things so that we forget that we have no control on anything and that we are here to have fun, laugh, love, walk into oblivion one day.
