I would much rather have Mozilla succeed—at least, the Mozilla that actively develops an open source browser and advocates for web standards. But that is so clearly not what is happening. As with any struggling non-profit, revenue will become the moral cause in an epistemic loop. And so, Mozilla's focus on generative AI and "privacy-respecting advertising" must be good for the internet, because Mozilla has always been good for the internet.
