I agreed because everyone else did and I thought. Well I thought I could maintain enough distance. And I can. But the problem is, I'm not the only one who'd need to. And it's not something I can make anyone do. I know I might have to say fuck it. I'm just looking for assurance that if I do it at this point there's still something to do. The most I'd do is maintain links with a couple of them personally, speak to them one on one, anything I show up to because I'm interested I'm just muted or on ptt, but then again, every time I've tried to have friends beyond them, they don't just come up and say hi, they try to absorb them and be like tell us your whole universe now weave it with ours, and they have no overarching goal or control mechanisms, just that general vibe in some configurations. This, of course, scares off most of them! And I'm like if I live in a world where the only one I can have is yours or nothing then I have to break my way out. It doesn't matter whether you mean it or not. You understand, I know you do, because you've had to do the exact same thing, and won't draw the comparison.
