The main series antagonist is immortal, always 24 years old. She settles in a town and has three children. Seventeen years later when it's obvious she does not age, she leaves her young girls and her business to her eldest and moves on. Seventy years later, she passes through the town and an old man recognizes her, wondering whether she's related.
