I do not understand how Bitcoin companies that intend to stay true to the Bitcoin ethos of self-sovereignty, self-custody and decentralization do not plan to be profitable from day one.
Why would an investor put money in your startup and not buy bitcoins with their capital? Investing in your company comes with the opportunity cost of buying bitcoin. Self-sovereignty, decentralization and self-custody are not sexy enough for the typical investor who’s really courting the next investor. Next time you intend to start a bitcoin company and you intend to get investment, you should think about the game the investor is playing. Maybe you just have the wrong investors.
