If I sound bitter about the USA it's mostly because I used to believe this system COULD serve its people.
I heard of Roe v Wade as a young teen in the third world and thought: progress is possible.
The religious barbarism that condemns young pregnant women to either poverty or risk of death could be held in check with voting and laws.
But then I moved here, and two weeks later Roe v Wade got repealed. And now the Supreme Court is anointing Trump.
It's become hard to stay positive.
