I really love Black american culture. But, also more and more I keep wondering why is it OUR job to explain who America is to itself? The work of Black artists does this consistently with precision and clarity. A mirror, a commentary on wherever the country happens to be.
Distance and separation give perspective. I guess it's not that complex. But, also being America's conscious and therapist is thankless.
This country eats our children. I do not have the patience to have a heart to heart.
