Suggestion: a worldwide system where if you can prove you live/work within a short distance (<1km?) of a place you should be allowed to skip the queue ahead of others who don't.

Like, sure, I'm happy to share my favorite cafe with tourists, but not at the expense of impossible lines. And I'm happy to let the locals first when I'm the annoying tourist somewhere else

(obviously super hard to implement, this is more of a theoretical suggestion)
