Having spent two months in Greece, the “city-ness” of Istanbul is quite the shock. Greece has a population of around 10million people. That’s the whole of Greece.
By contrast, Istanbul alone has a population of a little over 15.5 million people. It is the most populous city in Europe and the 16th most populated city in the world…a good enough reason for us to not spend that long there before moving on! 🤣
