Archaeologists really are dumb. For the hundredth time, I hear the words "Gobekli tepe was purposely buried for some unknown reason." Yeah, no shit it was purposely buried... It was a cairn! The earth covering it was part of the structure. Basically, it was a man made cave, where ancestors were kept - same as all the henges all over Eurasia. Which they also uncover and come up absurd explanations for, like astronomy. Here's how it worked - the three legged dolmens were for sky burials, where a body was lain for birds to eat. Some parts of Mongolia and Tibet still do this. Then the bones were taken into the cairn, where they were visited and honored for generations. The skulls were often painted. When the place was abandoned, due to an attack or something, people gathered the most sacred things, including their ancestors.

Its not even hard to put together. The dolmens and henges are all over eurasia. I can show you how to build the megalithic structures. Its slow, but very doable. No psychic floating rocks required. Also, the so called dolmens of the black sea coast were different - those were furnaces for making iron. There's still smoke stains on their roofs.
