I am puzzled by the breathless coverage of campus protests. They are not new, or even different. In the 1980s, when I was in college, students built a shanty town on the quad to protest apartheid in South Africa. In the 1960s and 70s, it was the Vietnam War and civil rights protests. These are the conversations we have been having for decades.
