I'm pondering giving stainless steel frying pans a go (I've typically been a cast iron guy since leaving those Teflon-based non-stick pans behind years ago). Anyone have strong opinions on quality-but-not-exorbitant SS pans? All-Clad seems to be the most recommended, but spendy. Tramontina seems potentially promising? Or... I mean... my sauce/pasta pots (which are SS) are just Cuisinart stuff from Target and work fine, maybe their frying pans are fine too?
