In a Socialist revolution you cannot sell people on that idea unless it's actually going to achieve making their situation less shit and give a good faith effort at working towards that end goal. Otherwise, it's a con game, and a bad one at that. People despite rumors to the contrary, aren't stupid. They can smell bullshit given enough time.
