if you could pass on just one of your favourite books to the next generation, which one would it be?
my choice would be Watership Down. i first read this book when i was 11 years old and i end up re-reading it again about once a year. every time i do, i find more layers to appreciate. it has similar social criticism embedded in it as a book like Animal Farm (e.g. Woundwort and his fascist rabbits) but the emotional connection you form with the characters is more fully realized.
