I see no problem here. This is a matter of checks and balances, preventing conflict of interest and other issues that a lot of other federal and state workers already have to do in many other states. If you don't like it, quit. They did and that's fair. The new law is already working, near as I can tell. Good on you, Florida! Rock on!
