I've long held that the US military needs to reorganize to defend against the most glaring national security threat: #climate change. The National Guard is insufficient to address the threat.

Humanitarian missions, supported by equipment and vehicles designed for rescue operations rather than enemy engagement, are going to become part of the service's reality whether they like it or not. Might as well start planning for it now.
