Hey folks, looking for some assistance from those smarter than I am.

Does anyone have a detailed idea of exactly how Mastodon stores media attachments? For example, if I post a link to an image hosted elsewhere will it still render the image while only storing it as a text hyperlink?

I’d like to somehow get back to minis photos without worrying about them eating up our servers db space. (As minuscule as said costs may be)
